What is the difference between a tiny home builder and a dealer?
A builder manufactures the home. A dealer sells homes built by someone else, usually from stock on a lot. The practical difference is who holds the knowledge and the responsibility: a builder can change the layout, tells you which standard the home is built to, and holds the build record. A dealer is selling a finished unit as it stands, and questions about how it was made have to go back up the chain.

When a dealer is the faster route
Neither is automatically better. A dealer can be the faster route if there is a unit on the lot that suits you and you want it now. A builder is the route if you want the layout changed, the spec adjusted for your climate, or a certification pathway chosen deliberately for where the home is going.
Two questions sort out which one you are talking to: who built this home, and can I see the certification record for it. A builder answers both immediately.
