Tiny Home Delivery & Setup: How It Works
What happens after your tiny home is built: transport, site preparation, utility hookups, and setup, and how to get each step right.
The Journey to Your Doorstep
After months of anticipation, the moment arrives: your tiny home is ready for delivery. Understanding this process helps you prepare properly and avoid common pitfalls.
Pre-Delivery Preparation
Site Assessment (4-6 weeks before delivery)
- Access Evaluation: Can delivery trucks navigate your route? Consider road width, overhead clearances, and turning radius.
- Ground Conditions: Is the ground level and stable enough to support the home?
- Utility Locations: Mark all underground utilities before any ground work.
Site Preparation (2-4 weeks before delivery)
For Foundation Models:
- Excavation and grading
- Foundation installation (pier, slab, or crawl space)
- Utility rough-ins (water, sewer, electric)
- Allow concrete to cure (typically 7-14 days)
For Trailer Models:
- Level gravel pad or paving stones
- Wheel chocks and stabilization points
- Utility connection points accessible
